Crossovers

Crossovers is a term used to refer to the portion of the driveway in front of a property between the front property line and the road carriageway.  All properties within the City of South Perth are required to have a crossover constructed to the satisfaction of the City.  It is the responsibility of the property owner to engage a private contractor to construct a crossover in accordance with the specifications and guidelines determined by the City.

The City recognises that the majority of crossover works are completed as part of the process of constructing a development at the property.  Accordingly, the City requests when plans are submitted for development that the plans show details of the proposed crossover and all other infrastructure and trees located within the road reserve.  The City will assess the proposed crossover as part of the development.  It may be necessary for the City to conduct work to accommodate the crossover within the road reserve such as moving City infrastructure or removing and replacing a tree.  In this instance the City will invoice the property owner for the cost of the work, which must be paid prior to collecting the building licence.

The City has prepared the following three information sheets and subsidy application form in addition to the specifications for crossovers within the City.  Should you require any further information please contact a Customer Service Officer on 9474 0777.
