Code of Conduct
The City has developed a Code of Conduct which identifies and distinguishes
the differing but complimentary roles played by members and the administration
in delivering good governance to the community.
The Code has been designed to
• Define the roles of the major participants in the
City’s corporate governance framework.
• Reflect current corporate standards including policies
and management practices and commitments made to our customers in the Customer
Service Charter.
• Encourage all staff and members to adopt the principles
contained in the Code to guide their professional behaviour.
• Incorporate and foster the values of Excellence,
Customer Focus, Trust and Respect in all dealings between members, the administration
and the community.
• Comply with all relevant statutory requirements.
The Code of Conduct of the City, which meets our obligations under Section
5.103 of the Local Government Act is required to be reviewed within 12 months
of each Council Election.
