More than 30,000 visitors and locals are expected to attend the Fiesta activities in 2016, from 5 – 20 March 2016. As in past years, there will be a strong art, culture and community focus with an array of experiences on offer.
Fiesta 2016 will feature purpose built work by local artist Tom Muller, titled ‘Ascending Signals’. These beacons will be on display for three weeks prior to the start of Fiesta, activated with light and smoke on the weekends. The works will be on display from Thursday 18 February to Sunday 6 March. See them illuminated from 6.45-9:45pm each Thursday to Sunday only during the exhibition period.
The festival will officially launch with the ever popular Fiesta Concert on Saturday 5 March. This year’s concert will feature the souring, soulful voice of R&B pop, funk and rock sensation, Nathaniel and will again include the Pagoda Resort and Spa fireworks.
Mark up your diaries early with this year’s festival finale, the Angelo Street Marketplace occurring on Sunday 20 March. Search for exciting activations hidden in laneways, treat your eyes and ears to an array of local and upcoming talent, and indulge in a selection of foods and wares from over 120 stalls.
