Graffiti

If you see graffiti vandalism in the City of South Perth, please report it as soon as possible. The City can remove it within three working days at no charge if it's visible from the street or an open public space. Graffiti is usually removed by painting over or using high-pressure cleaning.

Graffiti removal requests should include:

  • address where graffiti was sighted
  • whether it’s on a residential, commercial or City property
  • if it’s on a painted wall, bare brick, stone or concrete.

Reports of graffiti on property such as bus shelters, power poles or traffic signs will be referred to appropriate agencies.

To report graffiti to the City, contact the Graffiti Hotline on 1800 007 774, fill out a Graffiti Removal Request Form or email graffiti@southperth.wa.gov.au

Graffiti Management Program

Developed in 2007, the City’s Graffiti Management Program offers a framework to report, remove, and reduce graffiti in the area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why remove graffiti quickly?

The sooner graffiti is removed from an area the less likely it is to recur. This works best when all the graffiti has been removed from a targeted area.

If I leave the graffiti on my wall won't the vandals be satisfied and leave it alone?

Evidence shows graffiti attracts more graffiti, and if it's not put on your wall or fence, it may be on adjoining properties.

What will it cost me to have graffiti removed from my property?

There is no cost to owners of private residences or commercial properties for removal of graffiti vandalism.

The City does not remove graffiti from cars, trucks, boats etc, or graffiti that is not visible from the street.

What about graffiti on other structures such as road signs and power poles?

The City does not remove graffiti from state government assets such as these. Any graffiti on state government property can be reported to the City via the hotline or email and the City will notify the correct agency.

You can also report graffiti to state government property at www.goodbyegraffiti.wa.gov.au.
