Rates Payment Options

The City offers a number of convenient payment options to allow you to pay your Local Government rates. Details of the various payment options are provided below.

Please have your Rates Assessment Notice ready when you make a payment online.

Option 1: Pay in full by the due date 24 August 2011

Option 2: Pay by two instalments

Ratepayers may choose to pay their rates by two instalments:

To register for this option you must have paid the first instalment by the due date.
 



The costs for this option include an administration charge of $7.50 and an interest charge calculated at 5.5 per cent per annum. (Excluding Pensioners & Seniors with rebated rates.)

NOTE:  Payments not made by the due date will attract a late payment interest charge of 11 per cent per annum.

Option 3: Pay by four instalments

Ratepayers may choose to pay their rates by four instalments:

To register for this option you must have paid the first instalment by the due date.

This option includes an administration charge of $22.50  ($7.50 each for payments 2, 3 and 4) and an interest charge calculated at 5.5 per cent per annum. (Excluding Pensioners and Seniors with rebated rates.)

NOTE:  Payments not made by the due date will attract a late payment interest charge of 11 per cent per annum.

Option 4: Pay by special arrangement

Ratepayers experiencing financial hardship may also make special arrangements with the City to pay their rates:

We are happy to work with you to develop a mutually acceptable payment arrangement.

Please contact the City's Rates Officers on 9474 0777 to discuss a suitable payment arrangement to settle the rates debt by 30 June. Click here to obtain a Rates Payment Arrangement Application Form

Interest will continue to accrue on these arrangements as with any overdue debt. It is essential therefore to obtain the final payment amount from the City before finalising the debt.
