South Perth Youth Network
The South Perth Youth Network (SPYN) is the City of South Perth's youth leadership team. Our group is made up of young people, from a wide range of backgrounds, who are keen to take action around the issues that they care about.
Anyone aged 12-25 who lives, works or studies within the City of South Perth is welcome to join.
What does SPYN do?
The SPYN team meets regularly to discuss important issues and develop local projects, events and activities for young people.

- Youth Week Spring Clean Out
- Book Week
- Young Writers Awards
- To provide and promote opportunities for young people in the City of South Perth
- To enhance personal development and leadership skills in our members
- To develop and deliver positive youth projects
- To allow the expression of young people’s ideas and opinions
- To raise awareness and support in the community around issues that are important to local young people
- To help make the City of South Perth a great place for all young people.

Youth Stuff in the City
Skateboarding WA Workshops
City of South Perth together with Skateboarding WA offer a variety of free skateboarding workshops and activities throughout the year at Manning Skate Park (located behind the George Burnett Leisure Centre on Manning Road in Karawara). Young Adult Areas
Did you know both Manning Library and South Perth Library have a designated Young Adult Areas? Both are stocked to the brim with young adult books and magazines plus somewhere to chill out quietly, read or study.For library opening hours visit: library.southperth.wa.gov.au

South Perth Young Writers Award
The South Perth Young Writers Award encourages excellence in creative writing. It is open to all students who live or go to school within the City of South Perth. There are six age categories for prose and the Award is open to all students from Year 1 through to Year 12.For more information visit: www.library.southperth.wa.gov.au
WACE Study Space
For the month of November, the South Perth Library has a dedicated student study space. So grab your study buddies and work together at the library without distractions. Ever just wanted to shoot a few hoops with some mates, play indoor soccer or table tennis? George Burnett Leisure Centre offers casual indoor court hire for badminton, basketball, volleyball & soccer. The centre is open 7 days a week and also has a table tennis table. Grants & Funding
Individual Development Program
Open to individuals who are residents of the City of South Perth and have been selected to represent the state or country in interstate or overseas championships and competitions. For more information click here.
KidSport will make it possible for Western Australian children to participate in community sport and recreation, no matter their financial circumstances. KidSport will allow eligible youth aged 5-18 years to apply for financial assistance to contribute towards club fees. The fees will go directly to the registered KidSport clubs participating in the project through their participating local government. For more information click here.
