The City of South Perth is home to many lush green parks, open foreshore spaces and recreational facilities, enabling residents and visitors to take part in a variety of activities.

Parks and Reserves Sir James Mitchell Park

At more than 50 sites around the City, including Sir James Mitchell Park, Neil McDougall Park, Comer Reserve and George Burnett Park, you’ll find cycle and walking paths and a range of playground equipment. You can also hire many our parks and reserves for social functions, picnics, barbecues or weddings.

George Burnett Leisure Centre George Burnett Leisure Centre

The City plays host to a number of community, sport and recreation organisations.

The George Burnett Leisure Centre runs activities for the community, and coordinates the usage of the City’s community halls, sporting pavilions, active and passive reserves, Community Bus and Liberty Swing. Located at George Burnett Park, the Centre has seminar and meeting rooms, sports halls, and basketball, badminton and volleyball courts available for hire.

Spirit of the South Newsletter

The City’s Spirit of the South Newsletter delivers up-to-date club management information from the sport and recreation industry. It identifies local sporting heroes, volunteer recognition for committee members and promotional opportunities for sport and recreation clubs within the City.
